Leon Genay Obituary

Leon Peter Genay, of Easton, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 in his niece, Yvonne's home, where he had been residing. Born in Easton, on August 3, 1953, Leon was the son of the late Joseph Andrew and Edith Elizabeth (Lorraway) Genay. He was a store clerk for ShopRite in Washington Township, New Jersey for 43 years before retiring in 2016. Leon loved to travel and visited 22 countries over 4 continents; he particularly loved France and Australia. He loved art and architecture, especially Frank Lloyd Wright. Most of all, Leon loved his family very much. Survivors: brother, Eugene A. Genay of Bethlehem Township; nieces, Yvonne E. Shands and her husband, Darryl C. of Bethlehem Twp; Christina Genay; nephews, Marc Genay and his wife, Lindsy of Colorado, Evan Genay of Montana; great nieces, Genay E. Jackson and her husband, Drew E., and their daughters, Zora E. and Suhaila E. all of Brooklyn, NY and Sydney E. Suarez and her husband, Victor of Lancaster; great nephew, Darryl J. Shands of Bethlehem Twp.; sister, Michele E. Fehnel and her husband, Herbert F., Jr. of Palmer Twp; predeceased by brother, Joseph J. Genay. Service: Private and at the convenience of the family.
