Mario D'Elia Obituary

Mario F. D'Elia Jr., 60, of Plymouth Meeting, PA, passed away on January 10, 2025. Mario was the cherished husband of Joan (Fragassi) D'Elia for 30 years. Born on February 14, 1964, in Philadelphia, PA, Mario grew up in Ambler, PA, the son of the late Mario F. and Philomena C. (Romanelli) D'Elia Sr. Mario lived life with passion and energy, always embracing his motto of the "4 F's": Faith, Family, Food, and Football. He was a devoted family man, a lover of great meals, and a diehard football fan who found joy in every moment. He was always very proud of his Italian heritage. In addition to his wife, Mario is survived by his two children: Gianna Rose (Terrance) Bender and Mario F. D'Elia III; his sister, Gina (Henry) Virkler; and his brother, Albert P. (Joanne) D'Elia; and nieces and nephews Alister Virkler, Lauren, Luke and Colin D'Elia. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Friday from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. Mario's Funeral Mass will be on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 2400 DeKalb St, Norristown, PA 19401 In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Mario's memory to The Philadelphia Eagles Autism Foundation and/or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Mario is like family even though I wasn't related it many of dinners there at his home. Always treated me like family he will be missed someday I'll join him in the spirit God bless
