Mary McConnell Obituary

Mary A. McConnell, 90, of Allentown, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. She was the life partner of the late Richard Andrashko, who died in 2016. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Margaret (Sweeney) McConnell. Mary was a 1952 graduate of Allentown High School. She worked as an Investigator at the Pennsylvania Department of the Auditor General for 23 years and earlier at Kay Jewelers and Thornton’s Jewelry Store. Mary was an active member of St. Paul’s R.C. Church in Allentown, where she sang on the choir, was a member of the Pro-Life Group and was an RCIA sponsor. Survivors: Nieces, Charlotte McConnell and Patricia Hann, both of Bethlehem Township; great-nephew, Jackson Hann of Bethlehem Township; brother, Vincent McConnell and his wife Charlotte of Bethlehem Township. Mary was also preceded in death by sisters Margaret Feifer, Dolores McConnell and Patricia Franklin. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at St. Paul’s R.C. Church, 920 S. 2nd Street, Allentown. A viewing will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service in the church. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fullerton. Arrangements are entrusted to the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Allentown. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, may be made to St. Paul’s R.C. Church (Memo: Pro-Life Group) 920 S. 2nd Street, Allentown, PA 18103.
