Rodney D. Moreira

Rodney D. Moreira, 73, of Whitehall, formerly of Slatington, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, in his home. He was the husband of Deborah R. (Edwards) Moreira to whom he was married 52 years this past September. Born in Walnutport, August 14, 1951, Rodney was the son of the late Deodoro and Irene (Dotter) Moreira. He worked for National Freight (NFI) for several years before retiring in 2025. Prior to that, Rodney had a long career in transportation. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Slatington. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Deborah; son, Mark W. Moreira and his wife, Stacy of Vermont; daughter, Amy L. Fredericks and her husband, Shaun of Bethlehem; brother, Barry Moreira and his wife Margaret of Lehighton; grandchildren, Emily Unger and Nathan Unger; nieces and nephews; predeceased by a brother, Gerald Moreira and his wife, Helen. Service: A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday May 8, 2025, in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309 Schnecksville.
