Stanely Borzage Obituary

Stanley R. "Stan" Borzage, 85, of Schnecksville, PA, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, at his home. Stan was the devoted husband of 60 years to the late Margaret R. (Sweeney) Borzage, and an adoring father to his daughter, Tracy (Borzage) Delans of Slatington. Born in Washington, D.C. on June 25, 1940, he was the son of the late Stanley A. and Hilda (Kreisl) Borzage. A 1958 graduate of Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, MD, Stan went on to become one of the last of the modern-day cowboys: a truck driver. During the heyday of trucking in the 1970s and 80s, Stan, a proud Teamster, hauled bulk freight for companies including Highway Express Lines, Maislin Transport, Roadway Express, Yellow, St. Johnsbury, Red Star, and Consolidated Freight. He transported everything from cattle to missiles, from Canada to Florida to the Midwest, he knew the roads of this country like the back of his hand. He especially loved his routes to Montreal, Buffalo, Rochester, and Albany, and passed on his love of New York to his family. Stan's greatest joy and achievement in life were his grandsons, Wyatt and Wesley. He was with them every single day - attending every practice, game, swim meet, and college move-in. He never missed a moment. Known for surprise deliveries of their favorite foods at any hour, Stan was always just a call away. He gave the priceless gifts of time, love, patience, and guidance. His pride in their accomplishments was boundless, and his love for them immeasurable. It didn't matter where or when - if you needed him, Stan was there. He was the best dad, a loyal friend to many, and a true Dr. Doolittle to every dog and cat he ever met. Stan loved the Chesapeake Bay, blue crabs, soft shells, oysters - and of course, the Washington Redskins. A passionate saltwater fisherman, he especially loved going out for stripers and tuna. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Orefield, PA. Survivors: In addition to his daughter Tracy, Stan is survived by his wonderful son-in-law, Danton Delans, and his beloved grandsons, Wyatt C. Delans and Wesley D. Delans; sister, Nancy (Borzage) Carroll; cousin and best friend, Alfred Battisti (Carole); as well as many cousins, nieces, and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved brother, Richard E. Borzaga. Service: A memorial service will be held 10:30 am. Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc, 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:30 am. – 10:30 am. prior to the service. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.

Yesterday

We were very fortunate to have Stan for a neighbor for 25 years. We could not have asked for better neighbors than him and Margaret. We will cherish the memories of him stopping by to visit while we were sitting on our patio with his six pack filled with a beer for the adults and brisk tea and ice cream cones for the kids. He would talk about his grandkids who he was so proud of. He loved to hear the stories our kids would tell him about their recent adventures. He will be deeply missed as a neighbor but also as a kind and wonderful man.

Tracy, so sorry for your loss. I am sure I have seen him at swim meets at one time or another. Reading the obit I can see that he had a good life and will be dearly missed. Condolences to the entire family.
