William Goerig Obituary

William P. Goerig, Jr. of Blue Bell died on Friday, January 31, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Kelch) Goerig. Born in Germantown, he was the son of the late William, Sr. and Victoria Goerig. He was a longtime member of St. Helena Church, Blue Bell. Bill worked as a gifted automotive mechanic for many years. He was a great husband and a friend to many. William was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially a Phillies fan. He enjoyed his German heritage and served as a fire policeman for Center Square Fire Co. In his spare time, he enjoyed making and fixing time pieces. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Teresa Barbieri (Robert) of Schwenksville, Kathleen Stranges (Jeffrey) of Telford, Dorean Downing (Jeffrey) of North Wales; sons, David Farmer (Joy) of Hatfield and Joseph Gibson (Erin) of Harleysville; 24 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Teresa Goerig and son, Francis Farmer The family will receive friends starting 9:30 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025, at St Helena Church, 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422, with the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.am. Burial to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made in Bill's name to the Center Square Fire Company, 1298 Skippack Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. Arrangements are entrusted to Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale, PA.
