Alphonse Mele

Alphonse William Mele, 44 of Branford, formerly of East Haven passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2025. He was born September 26, 1980 in New Haven to Alphonse William Mele and Donna Nuzzello. Alphonse is survived by his wife, Christine (Shebell) Mele of Branford, a daughter, Maya Shebell, his mother, Donna Nuzzello of East Haven and three brothers; William Mele (Katie DeStefano) of East Haven, Vincent Staffa (Stephanie) of North Haven and Edward Mele of Branford. Alphonse is also survived by his in-laws, David and Rae (Vastola) Shebell of Branford along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousin and friends. Alphonse is preceded in death by his father and an uncle, James Nuzzello. Before his most current employment with Tilcon Ct. Inc and Union of Operating Engineers Member 478, Alphonse carried several professional trades including certified in heating and air, plumbing, A&M Painting, and Mele Mechanical. Alphonse used his talents and abilities to help anyone he knew in need, and was known for his kind and generous heart. He never let a need go unmet if it was in his power to help. Alphonse was also known for his love of animals as he rescued and cared for so many in his life. He spend a great deal of his free time hiking his best friend Milo who he loved dearly and will miss Al tremendously. Alphonse loved the Lord Jesus, and was a man of faith, character and integrity. His love of family was his greatest attribute. His wife and daughter, his mother and brothers, and his precious niece Natalia were his highest priority and he never missed an opportunity to tell them what they meant to him. He will be immensely and deeply missed by all and our lives are forever changed until the day we meet again in glory Family will receive friends on Thursday March 6, 2025 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave, East Haven from 4 PM until the time of service at 6:30 PM.
