Armand Brandi Obituary

Armand David Brandi, 95, of Naples, Florida, previously of Alpharetta, Georgia and Hamden, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on January 22nd, 2025 after a brief illness. Born on July 29th, 1929 in New Haven CT. Armand was the beloved son of the late Aniello and Carmel (nee Migliaro) Brandi. Loving husband of 70 years to wife, Rosalyn (nee DiNicola). Cherished father of Neal (Kathleen) Brandi, Carmel-Lynn Brandi all of Naples Florida, David (Sandy Grant) Brandi and Rosalie (Steven) Sybert all of Alpharetta Georgia. Adored by grandchildren Timothy Sybert, Catherine (William) Kelley, and Olivia Brandi, Great granddaughter to be Baby Kelley. Predeceased by granddaughter Adriana Brandi and brothers Frederick and Joseph. Armand was a lifelong Catholic, graduated from Saint Mary's Catholic High School in New Haven, The Cheshire Academy, and Providence College. He was an Army reservist from 1950- 1961. His career was spent with the State of Connecticut Labor Department, retiring as a Director. Managing offices throughout the state, he was recognized for his work with the National Alliance of Businessmen. Armand was active in Hamden for many years, serving on the Planning and Zoning Committee and later the Board of Appeals. He was a very active member of the New Haven Club of Providence College, serving in many capacities, including secretary and as its President from 1975-1977. He also served as area representative to the Providence College alumni's National Board of Governors. In 1989 he was honored by the New Haven Club of Providence College, with their prestigious Veritas Award. Armand was a parishioner of Saint Stephens Catholic Church in Hamden, CT and served as extraordinary minister of the Eucharist for 17 years. He was a member of the American Wine Society. He, along with Neal and David enjoyed making wine for many years. As members, they entered numerous wine tasting contests. They won a Gold award for their submission Seyval Blanc, numerous silver and bronze awards for Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel as well as other varietals. Armand was a husband, father and grandfather first and foremost. He had many lifelong, truly cherished friends. He was always available as a handyman and jack of all trades, for any home project, big or small, something his wife and children appreciated greatly and used extensively. He loved food and traveling. Rosalyn and Armand, with their treasured friends and family traveled extensively for many years, to Italy, France, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Germany and the islands. Making special memories with those he loved was his favorite thing to do. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday March 14, 2025 at 10:30 AM in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at the Church of St. Therese, 555 Middletown Ave., North Haven CT 06473 with Committal/Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. I am sorry to hear of Armand's passing. My father, Joe Celentano Sr., worked with him many years ago at the State Labor Dept. He always spoke highly of Armand. My condolences to your family.

My deepest sympathy to the Brandi family. I grew up in Hamden and was a member of St Stephen Church as well. I remember my mom talking about Ros and Armand Brandi as very kind people. May he rest in peace
