Barbara "Jean" Gargano

Barbara "Jean" Champagne Gargano passed away on May 30, 2025, at her home. Born in New Haven, CT on January 23, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Frances Champagne and sister to her 3 older siblings, the late Ernie Champagne, Melanie Champagne Sanchez and John Cham-pagne. She attended Saint Francis School and then Wilbur Cross High School. She finished her last year of high school at North Haven High School where she met her beloved late hus-band, Joseph Gargano. Jean was a stay-at-home mother to her "favorite person in the world," her son Tom Gargano. She also worked with her husband Joe, helping him with his busi-ness. She leaves behind many family members and friends who loved her very much, including her son and daughter in law, Tom and Lily Gargano and her other "favorite person in the world," her grandson Griffin. Jean loved spending time with Griffin, and nothing made her happier than watching him grow up for the last seven years. The visiting hours will be on Wednesday, June 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A brief service will take place in the funeral home at 7:00. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, 749 E Main Street, Branford, CT 06405 to honor her love of animals.
