Bettie Cox Obituary

Bettie Cox entered eternal life on August 10, 2025. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. Bettie later on resided in Long Branch, New Jersey. Bettie later became the beloved wife of the late Willie "Boot" Cox, II. Together they shared a life full of love and happiness. Bettie deeply loved her family, but above all, she loved God. She instilled the word of the Lord into the hearts of her family, living a life of faith until she was called home to reunite with Him. Bettie was known for her infectious laughter, warm smile, and joyful spirit. She loved talking on the phone, sharing laughter, and savoring good soul food. Her presence brought joy to all who knew her and her laughter will be missed dearly. Bettie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie "Boot" Cox, II; her daughters, Valerie and Rhonda Cox; her parents, George and Mattie Brown, Step-Mother Pearl Brown, two brothers, Walter and Leon Brown, and three sisters Elise Highsmith, Shirley Gary and Carolyn Monroe. She leaves to cherish her memory her children; two daughters, Allison and Tanieka Cox, two sons, Willie Cox, III (Priscilla) and Bryant Cox (Tasi) all of Connecticutone brother George F. Brown of Richmond, Virginia, four sisters Anniemae Ogltree of Long Branch, New Jersey, Alice Williams of Richmond, Virginia, Teresa Wright of Silver Springs, Maryland and Martha Cho of Washington D.C., Bettie also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives who will forever hold her in their hearts.
