Catherine C. Cushman

WATERBURY – Catherine C. Cushman, 73, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at her home at Autumn Lake where she has resided for a long time. She was born December 23, 1951 in Winsted; the loving daughter of the late Robert Carlson and Bernadette (Beaudoin) Gandy. In the later years, she loved BINGO and was fondly known as a "BINGO Queen." She enjoyed painting, drawing and spending time with family and friends of Autumn Lake. She would often be hanging out in the halls visiting or socializing at events there. Cathy was well known and well loved. Cathy is survived by her beloved daughter, Marie Cushman of New London; two cherished grandchildren, Erica and Katie Anforth, both of New London; aunt, Geri Sousa and her son, Stephen Eric Sousa; former brother and sister-in-law, John and Charlene Cushman of Glastonbury and their children, Jennifer Cushman of East Hampton and John Cushman, Jr., of Terryville; aunt, Carol Beaudoin; close cousin, Jimmy; family friend, Jennifer; and other extended family. Cathy was predeceased by her former husband, William A. Cushman. The family would like to thank accentCare for their support of Cathy and the family during her journey home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at St. Joseph Church, Winsted at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Forest View Cemetery, Winsted. There will be no calling hours.
