Charles Sinatra

Charles J. Sinatra, 93, of Newington, beloved husband of Angelina (Trombino) Sinatra for 70 wonderful years, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Charles was the son of the late Anthony and Rosalina (Campione) Sinatra. He was raised in Staten Island, NY, before eventually settling in CT, first in New Hartford and later in Newington, where he built a life centered on family, integrity, and quiet strength. A decorated veteran, Charles served his country honorably as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he began a distinguished career in broadcasting, starting as a cameraman and working his way up to become a Technical Director at WFSB Television Station, an affiliate of CBS. He retired after more than 30 years. He was a proud member of the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians. He was an avid photographer and videographer who delighted in showing love for his family by capturing special memories on film, crafting home movies that will be cherished for generations. An exceptional cook, Charles brought warmth and flavor to every meal he prepared. He found joy in family vacations, including trips to Italy, particularly Sicily, where he connected with his heritage and shared his love for culture and cuisine. A lifelong New York Yankees fan and longtime UConn fan, Charles also enjoyed biking throughout the state, often clocking countless miles with determination and joy. Charles will be remembered for his humble spirit, his gentle presence, and his ability to truly listen. Though soft-spoken, his impact on those around him was profound. In addition to his beloved wife, Angelina, Charles leaves behind his four children, Donna Annecharico and her husband David of East Hampton, Barbara Horn and her husband Jeffrey of Rocky Hill, Charles Sinatra, Jr. of New York City, and James Sinatra and his wife Jacquelyn of Wethersfield, eight grandchildren, Matt Annecharico and his wife Renee, Steve Annecharico and his wife Stephanie, Joseph Annecharico and his wife Arielle, Krista Annecharico, Andrew Annecharico and his wife Kara, Douglas Horn and his fiancée Brittany Walsh, Jacqueline Horn and Lena Sinatra, and five great grandchildren, Stella, Logan, Audrey, Anya and Rayna. He also leaves his brother Peter Sinatra and his wife Lois of MA, and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was predeceased by his sister Mary McHugh. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 30th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
