Danielle Davis Obituary

Daniella Janae Davis, 35, of North Haven, CT passed away Thursday February 6, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Danielle or Danni, as she was called by those close to her, was born November 18, 1989 at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven. She spent her formative years growing up in West Haven, CT with her mom, Dorothy Davis, her Grandmother Carolyn Davis and grandfather Charles Davis. While growing up in West Haven, she attended Forest Elementary School and Carrigan Middle School, where she enjoyed playing basketball. Danielle and her mother later moved to North Haven, where Danielle enrolled at North Haven High School, graduating in 2008. After graduation Danielle worked in a range of professions while trying to find her niche. She went to Gateway Community College, eventually transferring to Lincoln Tech where she would learn to become a medical assistant. After obtaining her certificate, Danielle ventured into a position working for Covidian Medical Supply where she was promoted to a managerial position in recognition of her hard work and dedication. She later moved on to work at Amazon for several years, before she was diagnosed with breast cancer and she took a leave of absence to fight the disease. Danielle's favorite part of her work life was the opportunity to meet people from all parts of the world. She especially enjoyed the exchange of local foods from different cultures that she and her coworkers would do during their breaks. Danielle had a great sense of adventure especially when it came to food. She was never afraid to try new things. It was during one of these special events that she would meet Charles Phommachanh. "Charlie" and Danielle became the loving parents of the light of Danielle's life, Phoenix Charles Phommachanh, born July 2020, he continues to bring joy to Dorothy, Carolyn and Charlie as they raise her adorable son. Danielle was a person that brought joy and laughter to her family and friends – many of whom she considered as her sisters. Whether it was going to wineries or comedy shows, taking "Grandma" to Mohegan Sun, checking out a new restaurant in town, enjoying a trip to the movies, or belting out some upbeat karaoke, Danielle enjoyed her short life to the fullest. She also loved to read – some of her favorite books were the Harry Potter series, Lord of the Rings, and Game of Thrones. She enjoyed traveling as well – Dominican Republic, Jamaica and New Orleans were just a few of the places she adored. Her easy smile and infectious laughter will be missed. Danielle is survived by her loving Mother - Dorothy Davis, Sister - Damaria Williams Davis, Grandma - Carolyn E Davis, Uncle - Alexander Davis (& Aunt - Keirsten Estabrooks), Uncle - Vinson Davis (& Aunt - Rena Davis), Uncle - Dave Huckaby, Uncle - Scott Huckaby, Father - Kevin Huckaby and Uncle - Douglas McKinzie, Godmother - Veda Lee (& Mark Lee), Great Aunt - Evelyn Hazel and Great Aunt - Christine Polite.
