Dawn Stender (Hare)

Dawn H Stender (70), of Coventry, CT, passed away on August 12, 2025 after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband, Phillip R Stender Sr; daughter, Heather Stender; and son, Phillip R Stender Jr. She is predeceased by her mother, Gladys Monti. Those who knew Dawn, knew her immense love of animals, her amazing crafting talents, and her ability to sing Patsy Cline's "Crazy" at karaoke like no one's business. She had a green thumb and could save just about any plant that anyone would think was beyond saving. She loved nature, camping, spending time outside in the yard, and birdwatching. She had a charitable spirit and became the first female Elk in the Manchester Lodge (BPOE 1893). She then went on to become the first female Elk of the Year in that lodge. She is already missed by many. A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Audubon Society in Dawn's name.
