Debra Austin Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debra S. Austin, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, who passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 71 on March 14, 2025. Debra was a woman whose love for life and family was boundless. She found joy in every moment, especially during the holiday and family gatherings. Whether it was making her special desserts, decorating the house with festive cheer, or simply sharing laughter with her loved ones. She made every gathering a memory to cherish. As a mother, she nurtured her children with love, patience and wisdom, always encouraging them to live their lives to the fullest. As a grandmother, she was a source of warmth and joy, her grandchildren bringing out the most playful and loving side of her. She delighted in their laughter, stories, and the simple joys that they shared together. She leaves behind her children, April Barry (John), Jamie Dobrovich (Adam, Sr.) and Sarah Austin (Fred Turner Jr.), her cherished grandchildren Jeffrey and Carter Barry, Emma, Adam, Jr and Mason Dobrovich, Loryell, Izayiah, Joseph Turner, Nevaeh and Kion Austin and Leandra Williams, as well as a host of extended family and friends who will forever hold her memory close in their hearts. She also leaves her 4-legged fur baby Rusty Wallace Austin who is lost without her. In honor of her love for celebration, a memorial service will be held on Friday, April 4th at First Congregational Church of Stratford, 2301 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be immediately following church service at Union Cemetery. Donations in her memory can be made to Stratford Animal Rescue Society P.O. BOX 1371 Stratford, CT 06615 or website:

Mom!
I cannot believe it´s been one month since you went to be with your mom, dad and brother. It´s been crazy and hard. Many times I´ve wanted to call to tell you what´s happening . Rusty is adjusting to his new routine.
Love and miss you!

Deb you will forever be missed. So many funny memories in and out of work. Our trip is D.R. started in the limo ride with our families, to the hysterical time at the airport. Hanging ornaments off your ears, dressing up as the Easter Bunny to laughing with Kerri and Barb. Always smiling and laughing. No one can ever make peanut butter balls like you. Your friendship I will cherish forever. Until we see each other again. Prayers to Jamie and April and their families. Your Mom was so proud of both of you. Love Eve
