Elaine Ann (Jarvis) Martocchio
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and Matriarch
Elaine Ann (Jarvis) Martocchio, 88, of South Windsor, CT passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Elaine was the heart and soul of the Martocchio (Jarvis) family-a woman of endless compassion, fierce love, and unwavering strength. Born in Hartford, CT, Elaine dedicated her life to raising her family and building a home in South Windsor which was filled with warmth, faith, laughter, and tradition. She raised five children and nurtured eight grandchildren, each of whom she adored and guided with her quiet grace and gentle humor.
Known for her kindness and gentle words, all that knew Elaine deeply respected her and knew they could turn to her, no matter the role she played in their lives – Mom, Grandma, beloved Aunt, friend, "Mrs. M," "Mrs. Martocchio," or caring neighbor. Her home was a place of comfort, her kitchen always filled with food and laughter, her heart overflowing with love that she gave without condition.
Elaine worked as a para-professional at Eli Terry Elementary School for 26 years where she provided support to children with disabilities. Elaine enjoyed gardening and cooking, but her family was her greatest joy, the heart of everything she did. Elaine loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren cheering them on at their sports games, concerts, school functions, and many dance recitals. Her trips to the casino with her siblings were always an adventure. Her home was always the heart of every celebration.
She is pre-deceased by her loving husband Vincent Martocchio, her parents Henry and Anastasia Jarvis, her siblings Raymond Jarvis, Bertha Sanzaro and Theresa Garbich. She is survived by her son Carmen Martocchio and his wife Wendy; her daughter Judy Martocchio; daughter Ann Jacques and her husband John; son Vincent Martocchio and his wife Stephanie; Henry Martocchio: her grandchildren Cody, Vincent, Marisa and her husband Will, Anthony, Jenna, Julia, Nathan, and Gianna; and many adored nieces and nephews.
Memorial calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25, 2025, 10:30am at St Catherine Church 6 Windsorville Road, Broad Brook. Burial will be private at a later date.
