Frank Galek Obituary
Loving Father and Grandfather
Frank W. Galek, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Patricia (Albino) Galek.
Born in Hartford on September 14, 1942, Frank was a graduate of Hartford High School. He immediately entered the U.S. Army. Extremely patriotic, Frank proudly served for 6 years where he became an accomplished Marksman. He was a longtime member of the Chase Rod and Gun Club, where he enjoyed shooting with family and friends and won many awards in the benchrest competitions throughout his life. He also was a great outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing.
Frank worked as a master mechanic for the Connecticut State Police, Troop H, before he began his career as a truck driver. Frank was a member of the Teamsters Local 43 and Local 677 and worked for various companies for over 40 years before retiring from LesCare Kitchens Inc. Frank was also a longtime parishioner of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, a former member and Past-President of the Bucks Hill Community Club and an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Nascar.
Frank had a deep love for his family and friends. He was very outgoing and social and appreciated a good friendly debate. His fondest moments were spent with his family and friends.
Frank is survived by his sons, Frank W. Galek, Jr. of Venice, FL, Keith Galek of S. Glastonbury and Brian Galek of Waterbury. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Amanda Lacey, Kristen Galek, Kevin Galek and Bryce Galek and his great-grandson, Levi Stanis as well as several nieces and nephews including his special niece who he lovingly referred to as his daughter, Debra Dunne of Bristol.
Frank's family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and staff of the Village at East Farms for their exceptional and compassionate care shown to both their dad and their mom Patricia.
