Gloria Engelhard

GLORIA ENGELHARD "Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister" Gloria Camille Engelhard age 93 of Waterbury passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on April 14, 2025 at her home. She was the beloved widow of William Engelhard. Gloria was born July 1, 1931 in Boston, only daughter of the late Paul and Argie (DelGreco) Angelico. She was a graduate of East Hartford schools. She married her beloved husband in November of 1950. They were together for 56 years before his passing in 2003. Prior to starting her family, Gloria had worked at the former G Fox, Fuller Brush as a mail clerk, at the toy dept at Woolworth's and at Bendix Allied for approximately 15 years. She was a dedicated, loving wife and mother. She also fostered 33 children for the Dept of Children and Families. She touched countless lives with her limitless love and will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to know and love her. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She leaves four sons: William Engelhard Jr. and wife Karen of Waterbury, Brian Engelhard and wife Dawn of Watertown, Brad Engelhard and wife Barbra of Oakville and Brennan Engelhard of Waterbury, four daughters: Bonnie Hutson and husband Robert of West Haven, Brenda Titus and her husband Gary of Oakville, Beth Colella of Cheshire and late husband Louis, and Barbara Eastwood and husband Joseph of Waterbury. She leaves her youngest brother Hank Angelico and wife Anne of Wallingford, but was predeceased by her brothers Paul, Salvatore, and Joseph Robert Angelico, also very important to her are her 26 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews and her faithful and beloved dog Cami. Arrangements: Funeral Tuesday April 22, 2025 at 9:15 am from Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for Mass at 10. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Calling hours Monday April 21, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
