Great memories of the Turek Family visit to Hans and Lotta in July 2021. Hans and Paul Turek were mixing it up a bit too!

I have known Hans since the 70´s when he gave a presentation at the Manchester arts council and later when he served on the MCC Foundation. His generosity funded The Hans Weiss Newspace Gallery at the college.
He was delightful man who enthusiastically loved the arts, his heritage, telling all how he came to America with little but his wits to create a business which he proudly tells people provided NASA with a part on a space ship. He loved engaging with people, and we loved talking to him.
His reconstruction of his childhood home was a delight to visit. His large collection of drawings along the walls of his studio, especially of people he drew were remarkably real. When I retired from MCC in 1997, he was generous to draw a large framed portrait of me. My wife keeps a smaller version of it in her office.
He is a man who will be missed.

I always admired Hans's commitment to higher education in a new country and his energy. He cared deeply about Manchester Community College and about the Town of Manchester. And, needless to say, he was a skilled artist.
He was a giving person, and I send my sympathies to his family.
