Janet Siciliano Obituary

Janet Siciliano, 95, of South Windsor, beloved mother of Laurie & Steve, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025. Janet was born on December 14, 1929 in Georgetown, Massachusetts. She grew up in Danvers & Salem Mass, graduating from St. Joseph Elementary School, Danvers High School and going on to attend Salem State Business College. Janet moved from Massachusetts to Washington DC, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Southern Illinois, St, Louis, Missouri and Denver, Colorado before moving to Connecticut & making it her permanent home. Janet began her career as a secretary at the United States Senate in Washington, DC, during the time of Presidential Candidate Adlai Stevenson and future President John F. Kennedy. Janet's next position was Secretary to the President of the Bank of St. Louis where she worked for several years and as Secretary to the President of Skelly Oil in Colorado. Upon moving to Connecticut, she was employed as Secretary for several years for the Town of South Windsor's Conservation Commission and then accepted a position as Legal Secretary for the law firm of Day, Berry & Howard in Hartford where she worked for 23 years before retiring. Janet loved making trips to Salem & Gloucester, MA, Vermont, Maine, Atlantic City, Florida & New York where she loved going to Broadway musicals. She also loved to dance and she & her husband, Ed, would clear the floor with their beautiful ballroom dancing. But the biggest joy of Janet's life were her three children and all her family & friends and the years she spent raising her family. Janet was a wonderful mother – "We love you, Mom!". Janet leaves her daughter Laurie Batignani and son Steven Williamson both of East Windsor, a stepson Edward Siciliano, Jr of Richland, Washington, her nieces, Colleen Minihane and Maureen Pater both of North Shore, Mass, her nephews and their families, John Mayer of Durango, Colorado, Jim Mayer of Urbana, Illinois, Mark Mayer of University Heights, Ohio, Tom Mayer of Odessa, Florida, Joe Mayer of Sarasota, Florida and her dear friend, Helen Lunsford, of Bradenton, Florida. Janet was predeceased by her beloved son, Jon Williamson, husband, Ed Siciliano, stepson, Ken Siciliano, brother, Walter Pater, sister, Wanda Minihane and niece, Patricia Minihane. Janet's family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale South Windsor & Vitas Hospice for their care and compassion.
