Jimmie Minnifield Obituary

Mr. Jimmie Minnifield, 44, of Pine Street, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 24, 2025. Mr. Minnifield was born September 29, 1980 in Waterbury, son to Gloria Minnifield of Waterbury and the late Carl Lewis Council. "YayYay'" as he was called was educated in the Waterbury public school system where he attended Kennedy High School and received his GED from Waterbury Adult Education Center. Jimmie had been employed by various companies throughout the Waterbury area. As a youngster Jimmie was a boy scout and attended Deliverance Church with his family. In high school he participated in several talent shows where he displayed his bass voice likened to Barry White. He enjoyed being outside and spending time with his family and friends. "YayYay" had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. His happy spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Besides his mother, Gloria, he leaves one son; Malik Minnifield of Bristol, CT, three sisters; Alicia Roman of FL, Deatrice Roman of Waterbury, Erica Minnifield of Waterbury, one brother; Serafin Roman of Waterbury, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends including his ex wife and long time companion, Shamika (Johnson) Minnifield of Waterbury.
