Joan P. Campbell Jackson

Joan Pauline Robinson Campbell Jackson, of East Hartford, CT. passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the age of 81 at St Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. Joan was born in Easley, South Carolina on April 7, 1944, and was one of three daughters of Oliver and Eloise Robinson (Ore) of South Carolina. Joan was the beloved wife of Earl Jackson, who recently passed away in March of 2025. She predeceased a sister, Thena Davis, her niece Vickie Davis, and nephew, Dougie Davis. Joan leaves behind her last sister, Sara Austin and husband, Foster Austin, her three sons, Warren Jackson II, Christopher Früster, Anthony Früster and God Daughter, Trenita (Nene) Covington. She also leaves behind her nieces, Shirely and Sherry Austin four grandchildren, Christopher II Früster, Jamal Früster, Aliyah Früster, Rinne Früster, six great grandchildren, and lifelong friend, Shirely Adams and her late husband, Clinton Adams, and nephew Derek Davis. Joan was a working woman from an early age. She worked various jobs throughout her life to take care of her boys, including working for the Hartford National Bank and eventually retiring from Aetna Life and Casualty. Joan was a strong matriarch in her family- a cancer survivor, and a constant caretaker for those around her. She loved cooking, hunting for a good bargain, and a weekday breakfast trip to Friendly's. Above all- Joan adored her family. In between traveling to places like Disney World, Niagara Falls, or back home to South Carolina, she could be found at school concerts, graduations, track meets or any occasion to cheer on her grandkids. Joan taught us to find joy in the day to day pleasures. In playing her lucky numbers, her routine hair salon visits, nightly calls with her sister, and being a devoted fan of her UCONN Women's Basketball Team. Joan leaves behind a legacy of strength, a reminder in the scarcity of family and to always put your best foot forward. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks folks to make donations to the American Heart Association in her honor.
