Joan Clark Obituary

Joan E. Clark, 79, of Southington went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2025 at Midstate Medical Center. Her family held her hand and enfolded her in their love as she passed peacefully from this world. She leaves her loving husband Robert Clark after 47 wonderful years together as well as her three children Karen Clark of Bridgeport, Kristina Belanger and husband Steven of Va. and Thomas and wife Crystal Bouchard of Ca. The sun rose and set on her three grandchildren Calvin, Jett and Cole. Joan is predeceased by her parents Horace and Rosalind (Bray ) Liefeld and her sister Louise Winterhalder. In her work as a mental health therapist she infused her clients with strength and commitment to wellness. Her lasting impact on so many individuals will never be forgotten. Always one to shy away from the "limelight"; rather she was the light in the lives of others. She completed her Master's from Sacred Heart University later in life. Her determination to achieve her academic goals was inspirational. She had a varied work experience ranging from The State of CT- Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, to Bridges to Private practice. Her work experience spanned many decades, having finally retiring at the age of 71. Joan worked from her heart, her legacy and care will never be forgotten. Joan's family was the center of her life. Her pride and joy and sparkle in her eye. She enjoyed traveling the world and observing different cultures and landmarks. While travel always left a special sparkle in her eye, nothing lit up Joan more than sharing about her family and her love for them. She was the pillar of the family and supported all of them at different times through every trial and tribulation that came there way. She was the first person you would want to celebrate a victory with and the first to give a shoulder to cry on. She was the glue that held her immediate and distant family together. She gave the world's best hugs and teared up at every goodbye. Joan was a woman of strong Christian faith and devotion. She was a faith-filled member of the Greater Bridgeport Christian Fellowship. She was very involved in the church, her sweet smile very welcoming to new members. Rest in God's love. "Come to Me and I will give you rest". – Matthew 11:28 Visitation: Friday July 11, 2025 from 3pm to 4:30pm at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect.
