Joan LeBarron Obituary
Joan R. LeBarron, 89, of Wallingford, entered into eternal rest in the arms of the Lord on June 18, 2025, at her home as she had wished. She was the beloved and adored wife of the late Francis "Jake" LeBarron for 58 years, together for 62 years. Joan was born in Scranton, PA on March 5, 1936 to Harold and Beatrice (Young) Rose.
Joan was a graduate of Meriden High School. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Meriden and enjoyed every role she had; as a member of Unit 4, the Sunshine Secretary, the church choir, the nominating committee, and helping anywhere she could.
Joan and Jake belonged to the Quinnipiac Camping Association and enjoyed taking their 3 girls on camping trips all over the United States and Canada. They made many lifelong friends through camping. Together they loved watching and attending UCONN Huskies basketball games. The house phone would always be off the hook during the games...
Joan is survived by her daughter Nancy Coppola, her son-in-law Robert Zemke, her six grandchildren Sergeant First Class Sean (Carmen) Zemke, Jessica Cunningham, Adam (Joslyn) Zemke, Eric (Kristyn) LeBarron, Travis Coppola, and Amy Coppola. Her ten great-grandchildren Keana, Aiden, Jaxon, Alivia, Erin, Brooklyn, Siobhan, Audyn, Evan, and Liam. Her sister Gwendolyn Fletcher, brother Harold Young, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughters Kathleen LeBarron and Patricia Zemke, her grandson David Cunningham, and her brother Richard Burge.
She was looking forward to being welcomed and reunited with Jake, Kathy, Patti, David and her best friend Judy Spencer along with many other loved ones.
