John M. "Jack" Biuso

John "Jack" Biuso, of Manchester, beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2025. Born in Westfield, Massachusetts, Jack was the son of the late Carmel P. and Eileen (Malone) Biuso. He graduated from Agawam High School in 1963, earned his Bachelor's degree in English from Saint Michael's College in 1967, and went on to receive a Master's degree in English from Boston College in 1969. In January 1970, Jack was drafted during the Vietnam War and ultimately served with distinction as a Congressional Correspondent. Following his military service, he began his career in higher education as an instructor and department head at Villa Maria College in Buffalo, New York. In 1974, Jack joined Pratt & Whitney, where he worked for over 25 years. His roles there included technical writer for engine repair manuals, communications trainer, Human Resources administrator and manager, and editor of internal newsletters and newspapers. He retired in January 2000 but couldn't stay away from the classroom for long. In 2003, he returned to teaching as an adjunct English instructor at Manchester Community College, Albertus Magnus College, University of Hartford, and Goodwin University, officially retiring (again) in 2020. Jack was a lifelong learner, a gifted communicator, and a curious soul who embraced the world through travel. He explored far and wide-Singapore, Bali, Malaysia, Russia, Scandinavia, Eastern and Western Europe, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and countless places across the United States. He especially loved Cape Cod and quiet afternoons on his front porch. Above all, Jack loved his family. He is survived by his devoted wife Susan; his daughters Alison, and Emily and her husband Kevin; and his two adored grandchildren, Adelaide and Graham. Jack lived a good and full life, and he will remain forever in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, on Wednesday, July 9th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Church, 736 Middle Turnpike East, Manchester, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
