Jose F. Fabian

Jose F. Fabian, 69, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Born on September 17, 1955, in the Dominican Republic to the late Jose Alba and Cristina Fabian, Jose came to the United States at the age of 17 and became a proud longtime resident of East Hartford. Jose was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved playing cards and dominoes, listening to music, and trying his luck with the dream of hitting the lottery one day. Above all, he cherished watching his grandchildren play sports and being surrounded by the love of his family. He was married to his beloved wife, Nannette (Barreto) Fabian, for 32 wonderful years, and together they built a life full of love and memories. Along with his wife, Jose leaves behind his son, Ornaldo Barreto, and his daughters, Cristina Simmons and Melissa Tenesaca. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Raymond, Stephanie, Samantha, Suheldy, Nathanel, Isabella, Damien, Zayden, Ezra and Josiah. Jose is also survived by his brother, Gustavo, and sisters, Dafnis, Nelsida, and Maria-Virgen, along with many nieces and nephews who held him close in their hearts. He was predeceased by his brother, Roberto. Jose will be remembered for his laughter, his warmth, and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, September 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington.
