Jose Luis Hernandez

The world became a little less bright on March 2, 2025, at 12:25 a.m., with the unexpected passing of Jose Luis Hernandez(56). Who left us peacefully with the presence of his children by his side until our dear Lord brought him home. Born on August 13, 1968, in Hartford, Connecticut, where he lived the majority of his life. He attended Buckley High School, graduated with his bachelor's from Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), and retired from the City of Hartford. Jose's infectious laughter and unending humor brought joy to everyone around him. Jose was also a devoted husband for 30 years to ex-wife Wanda Hernandez and a loving father to his children. Jose left behind his children: daughter Vanessa Guillory, son-in-law Stan Guillory of CT, son Jose Hernandez, daughter-in-law Jasmine Nieves-Hernandez of FL, and daughter Alexa Hernandez of CT. He was a loving, caring, and without a doubt the greatest grandfather to his grandchildren Gabriela, Arianna, Jayden, Stan jr. and soon to be born Danni. As well as his mother Maria Febles, his sister Beatrice, niece Grace, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, his best friend/brother Melvin Tyson of CT, etc. Whether he was telling jokes, playing with his grandkids, fixing stuff, building something, at lacrosse practice, drawing, watching the stars / planets, or just having long phone conversations with his kids. He always reminded them "I am working with you." Jose made every moment unforgettable, and for that, we will be celebrating the life of Jose Luis Hernandez with a cremation memorial service to be held at Farley-Sullivan Funeral Homes on March 8, 2025, from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. All attendees are requested to wear all black during this time of grief.
