Kenneth L. Christian

Kenneth L. Christian, 93, of Windsor Locks, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hartford on August 11, 1932, he was the son of the late Daniel and Estelle (Kulas) Christian. Kenneth was one of twelve children and a lifelong resident of Windsor Locks. Together with his family, he owned and operated Christian Tobacco Farms in Suffield for many years. Ken valued his role mentoring the boys who worked on the farm each summer. He was dedicated to planting, picking, and curing shade tobacco, and his passion for overseeing both the boys and the harvest never faded. A proud veteran, Kenneth honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph Church in Suffield. For many years he enjoyed duckpin bowling with his brothers at Villa Rose, where they proudly bowled as a team. Kenneth is survived by his children, Kenneth Christian II, Chester F. Christian and his wife Wendy, Daniel O'Leary Christian, and Estelle Christian; his cherished grandchildren, Chet Christian, Seth Christian and his fiancé Jesmarie Disdiel, Jessica Christian and her husband Kane Seaha, and Caitlin Christian and her boyfriend Caelan Thibodeau. He will fondly be remembered by extended family, friends, and all who knew him throughout the community. Relatives and friends may join the family on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Mary, Gate of Heaven Parish – St. Mary Church, 42 Spring Street, Windsor Locks (please meet directly at church).
