Louis Genovese Obituary

Louis (Gaetano) Genovese, 97, passed away on Thursday, June 19th. Born in New Haven on 11/20/27 to Joseph and Jennie Genovese, he later moved to Hamden, graduating from Hamden High School. After serving in the Army in Germany in WWII, he purchased property in rural Hamden and with the help of his friends, built his dream home in the country. He was passionate about his garden and loved nothing more than sharing what he grew with friends and family. Other hobbies included raising Morgan horses and restoring antique horse drawn carriages. He owned an electrical contracting business (Triangle Electric) as well as several stores that sold lighting and gifts. He later went on to serve as electrical inspector in Wallingford for 35 years. He was predeceased by Edith, his wife of 50 years, brothers Ralph, Jake and Joe and sister Jean. He is survived by his sister Angela; daughters Gail, Kim and Robin; son Guy, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. There are no calling hours. Private burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Burial Grounds at a later date.
