Louis Gianquinto Obituary

Louis Gianquinto, Sr. 87, of West Haven died peacefully at home on June 15, 2025 with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Phyllis Zavarella Gianquinto who he absolutely adored.
Known to those he loved most as "Pop," was a hardworking, warm, and kind-hearted family man. Born and raised in Trapani, Sicily during World War II, Louis fought hard to move to America and fulfill the American dream. Beloved by all, he lit up every room he entered, often found quietly taking in the scenery and cherishing the presence of his family. He was a loving father, an adoring grandfather, and an impactful mentor. His ability to see the best in people, despite their challenges, brought courage to all who met him. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his deep love for family, and the stories he shared from a life full of perseverance and grace. Though he has left this world, the lessons he taught and the love he gave will carry on through the generations he helped shape. He was proud to be the General Manager of H. Lender & Sons, an iconic New Haven bagel manufacturing plant in New Haven, where he worked with pride from 1983-1999.
Lou was a proud father to Donna (Brian) Tuttle, Nina (David) Quick and Lou Gianquinto, Jr. Proud "Pop" to Cameron (Stacey) Tuttle, Collin (Melissa) Tuttle, Connor Tuttle, Nicholas and Jonathan Fusco and David Quick and great grandfather to Madelyn and Morgan Tuttle. He is also survived by 6 nieces and nephews and was predeceased by his brother Nicolo Gianquinto.
Visiting hours will be Thursday June 19th from 3-7pm in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Place, New Haven. A parlor service will be held on Friday, June 20th from 9:00-10:00am. Entombment with military honors will take pace in St. Lawrence Garden Mausoleum.
