Mark Baskerville Obituary

Mark Anthony Baskerville, 64, of Waterbury departed this life on February 26, 2026 affectionately known as "Rumbler" was born on October 24, 1961, at Queens General Hospital in New York City. The son of the late Willie and Elsie Baskerville. He was raised in Queens, Ny where he attended New York City public schools, he later earned a certificate from Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan pursuing his passion for cooking.

Mark worked for many years as a septic tank worker before relocating to Connecticut, where he devoted himself to raising his family while working as a short-order cook. He took great pride in his work and in himself. Known for his intelligence and gift for conversation. Mark loved using big words, sharing knowledge, and connecting with others. He could talk for hours and rarely met a stranger he couldn't talk too. Thanks to his warm and inviting demeanor.

He earned the nickname "Rumbler" on the streets of South Jamaica along New York Boulevard. Though short in stature, he was big on respect. Mark trained in boxing and knew how to throw his hands yet he was always known as respectful, kind, and quick to smile.

Family was Mark's greatest joy and motivation, especially his beloved grandson, Tyler, whom he proudly called his "main man." He loved to laugh, dance a little two-step, be silly, and embrace his role as the patriarch of the family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children: Daughters Markaya Baskerville-Williams, Porchá Baskerville-Williams Sons Mark Scaniffe-Baskerville and Thomas Baskerville- Scaniffe; stepdaughters Takheema Williams and Clarissa Scaniffe ; and a host stepchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Wilma Baskerville, Marie Allison, Ethel Trammell, Michelle Livsey, and Rose Trammell; his brother Thomas Trammell; his uncle Larry Dawkins; his aunt Joyce Moore; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who became family.

Mark was predeceased in death by his sister, Victoria Baskerville; his brothers, Willie Jr. and Eric Baskerville and his nephew Malik Jackson.

Mark Anthony Baskerville's legacy of love, laughter, strength, and wisdom will live on in all who knew and loved him.
