Mary Tulimieri Obituary
Obituary of Mary Alice Tulimieri
Mary Alice (Campo) Tulimieri, beloved wife of Dennis M. Tulimieri, Sr., was called to her heavenly home on September 30, 2025. She left this world surrounded by her adoring family, leaving an enduring legacy of compassion and faith.
Mary Alice was born in the North End of Boston on July 21, 1945, the daughter of Mario Campo and Eleanor (Fyfe) Campo. Her deep commitment to family began with her dedication to her parents, sisters and brothers; Ellie (Campo) Alfieri, Rosemarie (Campo) Ferrara, Richard Campo, Sr., Thomas Campo, and Michael Campo.
As a student at the all-girls Catholic school Julie Billiart Central High School, Class of 1963, Mary Alice was spotted from across the playground by her future husband. Soon they were slow dancing together during school mixers with the companion boys school Christopher Columbus High School. It was a true romance from the beginning and evolved into a legendary love story. Mary Alice and Dennis were married on July 24, 1965, joyously celebrating their 60th Anniversary just a few months ago. In time, they were joined by a house full of four rambunctious children and embarked on a life of endless hockey games, baseball games, soccer games, dance recitals, occasional Bushnell shows and school events. The boundless love of Mary Alice and Dennis is also illustrated by the committed embrace of a teenage foster daughter, Elaine Freer, while still in their early 20s themselves.
In 1979, Mary Alice became co-founder of Tulimieri Associates, Inc., serving as CFO with Dennis serving as CEO. During an impactful business career, Mary Alice put the human in Human Resource long before that title even existed. In addition to business support, Mary Alice also served as off ice support during the 40 years of Dennis' continuing tenure as Head Coach of the Wethersfield High School Hockey Team. Outside of the arena Mary Alice provided organizational and road support during Dennis' decades of riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge, raising funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. For the past 26 years, under the banner of Team Lindsey, Mary Alice and Dennis have raised over $280,000 for cancer research, but more importantly established an enduring affection for their Pedal Partner, and granddaughter by choice, Lindsey Kimball Sylvain.
Lately, Mary Alice was an active and fond member of the Senior Luncheons at Saint Dunstan Parish. She enjoyed the company and conversation, particularly the opportunity to share, and listen to, stories about children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. It was in the role of caring mother, dedicated grandmother, and as a truly great Great-Grandmother, that Mary Alice excelled. She leaves her loving memory in the hearts of her children and their spouses, Dennis M. Tulimieri, Jr. and Kim Renée Thibodeau of Old Saybrook, Kevin J. Tulimieri and Jean Eaton Tulimieri of Hebron, Daryl J. Tulimieri and Riina Tehver of Granville, Ohio, and Lisa Marie (Tulimieri) Thibodeaux and Kevin Thibodeaux of Marlborough. Joining in their affection are her grandchildren and their spouses, Maxwell Tulimieri and Mary Lee Sperl, Duncan Tulimieri, Chloé Tulimieri, Kyle Thibodeaux and Molly Andrade Thibodeaux, and Gabriella (Thibodeaux) Bouchard and Tyler Bouchard, and her Great Grandson Bennett Bouchard. A lengthy list of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends join in the grateful appreciation of Mary Alice and her beautiful spirit. She was predeceased by her brother Agripino Campo. With a gentle and charitable heart, Mary Alice extended her generosity beyond family to Saint Dunstan Parish, the Archdioceses of Hartford and other worthy causes.
The Tulimieri family would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the skilled and compassionate doctors, nurses and staff of Saint Francis Hospital, particularly Assistant Nurse Manager Stella Kimball, and the kind caregivers at Glastonbury Center for Health & Rehabilitation, including Ashley and Dennise.
