Matilda Daddona Obituary

OAKVILLE Matilda Daddona "Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt & friend" Matilda Daddona, age 93, of Oakville, died peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late John Daddona, who predeceased her in 1998. Matilda was born on August 21, 1931, in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy, a daughter of the late Nicodemo "Rosario" and Orsola Perugini. Matilda came to the United States in 1951 and settled into their home in Oakville with John, where they were later joined by her dear sisters, and together, raised their families. For many years Matilda worked for Timex in Middlebury, and then Bendix, retiring in 1994. In her retirement she worked at a local daycare where she cared for children with the love and dedication that came to her so naturally. Matilda loved cooking, working in her garden, and feeding anyone who came to her table. Matilda was happiest when surrounded by family. She leaves in her memory, a son, Michael Dadonna and his wife, Cynthia of Morris, a daughter Mary Calabrese and her husband Michele of Southington, three grandchildren, Michael Calabrese and his wife Lina, Ryan Calabrese and his wife Jennifer, and Marisa Nelson and her husband Michael. She also leaves behind her four great grandsons, Luca, Michael "MJ", Colin, and Jake, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family in the U.S., Canada, and Italy. Matilda was preceded in her death by her husband, John, and her loving sisters, Felicia Polletta and Carolina Ciarlo. Matilda's family would like to thank her caregivers Stacy, Emily, and Dolly and the VITAS Unit at St. Mary's Hospital for all of the wonderful care that they gave to her. Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Holy Disciples Parish in Oakville. Burial will follow at Mt.
