Neal Williams Obituary

Neal "Bill" Williams, son of the late Bernice Williams and Willie Gay was born in Hartford CT, on May 15,1964, and departed this life on Friday, May 16, 2025, alongside his family. Bill migrated to Alabama at the age of 5 with his mom and older siblings. Bill graduated from Macon County High School in 1982. Growing up Bill would spend summers in Connecticut with his father and other siblings and would return to Alabama and do the same with his mom, aunts and siblings there. Bill later met the love of his life, Paula Sue Williams in 1985, and then moved to Connecticut and started their family. Bill began his career with the City of Hartford working on garbage trucks. He later went on to construction work and retired from warehouse work. He did catering on the side which was his all-time favorite job. If you knew Bill you knew he kept a job, kept a smile, and always had a two-step to show off. Bill was known for a good time, being a loving man, family oriented, and telling us all exactly how it is. Shortly after expressing himself, he'd offer to fry you some fish or salmon patties. In his earlier years Bill enjoyed hanging out with his cousin Essie and the crew dancing and listening to music. Recently Bill would spend his Friday nights hosting a card game at his house with the fellas, Ralph, James, etc. Bill believed in celebrating every moment and he did just that even up to his last hospital stay. He touched so many lives and will be known and remembered for his infectious laugh, smooth dance moves, slick mouth, and the love he had for his family and friends. Bill has had an impact on everyone he's encountered and has left a memorable mark on us all. We were all so fortunate to have known him. Bill was a great father of 5. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters: Sanquietta (Netta), Bernisha, Nichel'le and his sons, Richard (Shamia) and Acarlos. He expressed his love for his children very loudly, but it could not compare or even come close to the love he had for his grandchildren: Tahjma, Jalen, Mykal, Nazir, A'Marii, Tristan, Nahki, JaZelle, Aaron, Estelle and Nazim. Bill also leaves behind a special uncle, Edward Lewis; special sisters, Vicky Williams of AL and Kim (Kincherlow) Jones; honorary brother William (Trice) Watts of MI and William (Keisha) Acevedo of CT; sisters: Renee Cooper of AL, April Johnson of AL, Sonia Brewster of NH, Tuesday Gay of CT; brothers: Ricky (Lita) Williams of GA, Lorenzo Williams of CT and Darryl (Lisa) Gay of CT. Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased of his siblings: Brad Johnson, Pudding, Shawn and Claymud all of AL, aunts: Vera and Janey both of AL, and niece, Shante of AL. Bill's spirits will live on in the hearts of his beloved family and the countless friends he made throughout his journey. Instead of mourning we celebrate the life of our dear loved one "Blue."
