Nellie "Krupinski" Talbot

Nellie (Krupinski) Talbot, 98, of New Britain, widow of George W. Talbot, passed away peacefully Saturday (July 12, 2025) at Masonicare in Wallingford. A lifelong New Britain resident, Nellie was a graduate of New Britain High School and was employed at Landers, Frary & Clark, then later at Fafnir Bearing. She was a member of Holy Cross Church in New Britain. Nellie was active her whole life, playing basketball in the New Britain Women's Industrial League where she was MVP, and played golf and bowled into her 90's. Surviving is her daughter, Karen Cook and her husband Jim of Wallingford; six grandchildren, Amy Backstrom and her husband Scot of Wallingford; Beth Cook and her husband Seth DePasquale of Michigan; Jonathan Scalise and his wife Janet of Southington; Cara Carlson and her husband Erik of Southington; Wendy Stone and her husband Chris of Wallingford; Misty Matthews and her husband Patrick of Newington; 15 great grandchildren, Fisher and Winter Backstrom; Ethan and Lane DePasquale; Isabella, Lily, Sofia and Olivia Scalise; Aniela and Nataly Carlson; Riley, Morgan and Evan Stone; Max and Peyton Matthews; and two sons-in-law, James Scalise, Sr. and Dale Brunetto, both of New Britain. Besides her husband George, she was predeceased by two daughters, Kathleen Scalise and Patricia Talbot; a grandson, James Scalise, Jr.; two brothers, Edward and Stanley Krupinski; and two sisters, Irene Skrzyniarz and Helen Marinelli. Funeral services will be held Thursday (July 17, 2025) 11 AM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Calling hours will be held Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
