Phyllis A. Spragg

WINSTED – Phyllis A. Spragg, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025 after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Spragg and the late Gary Annis. Born December 4, 1942 in Hartford; the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Uskitis) Rosa. Phyllis was the youth minister for Poquonock Community Church in Windsor where she resided for many years mentoring, running the youth group and taught confirmation classes. She loved traveling with her husband Bob especially going to Grand Teton National Park and Maine touring lighthouses, visiting the ocean and enjoying the beach. She was a woman of faith, an avid reader, liked going out for dinner and had an amazing green thumb with all plants. Phyllis was a supportive, cheerleader to her children and grandchildren always very proud of their accomplishments. She is survived by her beloved children, Bruce Brosnan and wife Molly Herman of NY and Sarah Haynes and husband Bruce of Winsted; daughter-in-law, Cinzia Brosnan of FL; cherished grandchildren, Sarah and David Haynes, both of Winsted; and her former husband, Robert Brosnan of FL. In addition to her husband Bob, she was predeceased by her son, Brian Brosnan and siblings, Ann Marie Solomon, William Rosa and Joseph Rosa. Burial at Granby Cemetery will be private. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 4 - 6 PM with a service and reception to follow at the Little Red Barn in Winsted.
