Scott Augur Obituary

Scott Francis Augur, 63, of Wallingford, passed away unexpectedly on October 1, 2025 at Midstate Hospital peacefully with family at his side. He was the loving companion of 22 years to Kathryn (LaFontaine) Murray. Scott was born in New Haven on May 23,1962 and was the cherished son of Mildred Corridan Augur and Elbert Augur, Jr. A dedicated truck driver for the former Agra Industrial Supply of North Branford and presently for Augur's Specialized Transport and J & M Pool Water, Devoted brother to Kim Ann Yother (Thomas) and the late Todd Augur. Adoring Godfather to Hannah Yother, treasured uncle of James & Benjamin Yother, he is also survived by Patrick Murray, his daughter Lyla Murray, his Uncle Mark Corridan, his aunts and many cousins. He was predeceased by his stepfather Matthew Flanagan. Scott's passion for trucking began before he was driving his own Mack R Model at 13 years old, barely able to see over the steering wheel down Quinnipiac Avenue, smiling from ear to ear. He loved transporting oversized loads and the thrill of being an essential part of crucial construction projects. Besides being a legend in the trucking industry, he loved spending time with family and friends, having dinners together, music and concerts, NASCAR races, Sunday cruises and the simple things in life. Although all of our hearts are broken, we are comforted knowing that he is driving a truck through the gates of heaven. The visiting hours will be Friday, Oct. 17th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Saturday morning, Oct. 18th at 11:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In memory of Scott's love of children, we request any donations to be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Scott, please visit our Tree Store.
