Waterbury, CT Shirley Rose Macary "Loving mother & grandmother" Shirley Rose (Nistico) Macary, age 86, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at River Glen Health Care in Southbury. Shirley was born in Waterbury, CT on January 8, 1939, a daughter of the late Andrew and Carmela (Aruta) Nistico. She was a graduate of Wilby High School. Before her retirement, Shirley worked in production for Uniroyal Inc. in the Rubber Division and as an office worker for General DataComm. Shirley was dedicated to her family. She loved to bake cookies and pies for her family and friends. Shirley leaves behind her children, Linda (Michael Morrissey) Macary of Clinton, CT, Keith (Susan) Macary of Weeki Wachee, FL and two grandchildren, Brianna and Dominic Macary. She also leaves her sisters, Christine Simcik and Patricia (Steve) Zainc, former husband, Vincent Macary and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Michael, Vincent, Albert and Andrew Nistico and sisters, Theresa Rogers, Mary Boise and Josephine Perugini. Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lebanon Church, 8 East Mountain Rd., Waterbury, CT. Please meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
