Sonya H Goldberg

Sonya Hoffman Goldberg April 8, 1934 born in New Haven, CT died on July 21, 2025. A lifelong resident of New Haven and Milford, CT she was the eldest daughter of the late Albert and Bess (Erlichman) Hoffman. Wife of 67 years to Saul Goldberg, mother of Dr. William Goldberg and sister of Rose-Billie Canter. 1952 graduate of Hillhouse High School in New Haven,CT and 1956 graduate of the Mount Sinai School of Nursing in New York. She was an OR and surgical nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven from 1956 until her retirement in 1997. She also worked as a nurse for the State of Connecticut from 1972 until 1993. She was a lifelong member of Congregation Mishkan Israel, a life member of Hadassah and B'nai Brith. She served as secretary of the Elm Chapter of B'nai Brith from 1968-1970 and served two terms as president from 1970-1974. Funeral Services Wednesday July 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Robert E Shure Funeral Home 543 George Street New Haven, CT. Interment immediately following in the Congregation Mishkan Israel Cemetery.
