Stephen Foster Obituary

Stephen "Steve" Eldred Foster, 60, of Bolton, CT, passed away peacefully in his home on February 22, 2025 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Steve was born on January 14, 1965 to loving parents Eldred and Lynda Foster, and was raised in North Brookfield, MA. After earning a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Nichols College in 1992, Steve embarked on a successful career in software sales. As a highly respected and passionate leader in the data technology industry, he spent nearly 30 years driving innovation and success in numerous start-up ventures. Steve's expertise, vision, and dedication earned him the trust and admiration of his colleagues and peers throughout his career. Steve had an infectious energy that could light up any room. His vibrant spirit and fun sense of humor brought joy to everyone around him. Whether he was dancing, singing, cracking a joke, or sharing a funny story, his presence radiated warmth and laughter. Steve was a devoted Boston sports fan, rarely missing a Red Sox, Celtics or Bruins game. His all-time favorite sports team was the New England Patriots, and he was a proud Season Ticket holder for the last ten years. Steve was passionate about music, frequenting live shows and festivals with close friends. He also valued international travel and exploring. Steve's daughters cherish childhood memories at their Vermont cabin where they snowmobiled, four-wheeled, and spent quality time together. In addition to his parents, Steve leaves behind to honor his memory: his beloved wife Janette Foster of Bolton, CT, daughter Kirsten Foster and her partner Frank Vernier of Manchester, CT, daughter Audrey Foster of Vernon, CT, sister Christine Gilbert and her husband John Gilbert of Spencer, MA, nephews Jonathan and Patrick Gilbert, cousin Joseph Perkins, and dear friends. Steve is reunited in heaven with his brother Scott Foster, maternal grandparents William and Florence Dickson, paternal grandmother Helen Perkins, and beloved dog Molly. Calling hours for Steve will be held at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, CT on Wednesday March 5, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Holy Family, 185 Church Street, Hebron, CT on Thursday March 6, 2025 at 11:00am.
