Tadeusz Cichocki Obituary

Tadeusz "Tadek" Cichocki, 72, of Kensington, beloved husband of Krystyna (Jurska) Cichocki, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Born in Radzilow, Poland, son of the late Franciszek and Janina (Nowakowska) Cichocki, was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Britain and St. Paul Parish in Kensington, CT. Tadek sailed with his family from Poland across the Atlantic in 1964 to Brooklyn, New York, as an 11 year old boy to live the American dream. He settled in New Britain and eventually built a home in Kensington, CT. He was hard-working, put himself through college, worked in tobacco fields and at McDonalds. He eventually established himself in a career as a mechanical engineer for over 35 years with Caval Tool, MTU and Budney. He was a President of KPH-Kolo Przyjaciól Harcerstwa, Polish Scouts for 35 years organizing many zabawy and fundraisers. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast. Often referred to as "Teddy Ballgame", he enjoyed watching his beloved New England Patriots, UConn Huskies Basketball and most of all his Boston Red Sox as they won multiple championships. He was a beloved Uncle for many nieces and nephews, and for many of them he was honored to be named Godfather. Tadeusz loved gardening, attending sports events, and celebrating many zabawy with his wife and their friends. He loved talking to people and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Most notably, he loved his family. You could always catch him spending time with his children, and his beloved grandchildren on every family occasion and milestone, vacations, and always stayed connected with his daily phone calls. He was a caring individual and extremely generous and active in his community and he will be missed by all who knew him. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife Krystyna; his son, Mark Cichocki and his wife Tai of Kensington, CT; his daughter, Monica Kruszewski and her husband Andrew of Unionville, CT; his grandchildren, Noah, Abigail, Ava and Julian; his first cousin, Jagoda Szerakowski and her husband Jacek; and extended family members and cousins in the U.S., Poland and other parts of Europe. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Jan and Lester Cichocki. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, CT.
