Tomas Garcia Aponte

Tomas Garcia Aponte, 83, of Meriden, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Friday, August 8, 2025 in his home. He was born in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico on March 6, 1942, a son of the late Guillermo and Geralda (Aponte) Garcia. He is survived by his beloved children, Sonia Garcia of Meriden and Tomas Garcia Jr., of Hernando, FL; his grandchildren, Tomas III, Jarrel, Sophia, and Soleil; his great-grandchildren, Tomas IV, Jarrel II, and Jayceon; and his siblings, Josefina, Ramona, Guillermo, and Maria; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and beloved friends. In addition to his parents, Tomas was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Lucila Rosado Garcia. His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., on Sunday, August 17th from 2:00 – 5:00pm. His family will again receive relatives and friends in the funeral home on Monday, August 18th from 10:30 – 11:30am when his funeral cortege will proceed to Walnut Grove Cemetery, 817 Old Colony Rd., Meriden for a graveside funeral service and burial. www.wallingfordfh.com
