Dear Mrs. D, Therese and family, my condolences for your loss. Vic was an amazing man and influential in my life. My father worked for him and he unexpectedly died when I just turned 17. I lost my mom a few years before that. Your dad helped my grandparents with his funeral and other expenses and he helped me get on the right track in life. My grandparents couldn't believe what he did for our family. I was that lanky kid who showed up on Main Street for dinner a few times when you and your brother were young enjoying your mom's cooking. Long story short, your dad gave me a job and even helped me start my own business when my grandparents and I were moving down south. He gave me the confidence and guidance a lost kid needed and I will always be thankful to him. I saw him last about ten years ago visiting family here and after a great chat he had to run home because your kids would be walking to his house from St. Mary's and your mom wasn't home. He loved his family and he was so happy when talking about your kids and how much joy they gave him. He said he didn't want to be that kind of grandfather but here he was going on he said because he sure waited long enough for them as he smiled before leaving. He was a rare gem, and you were all blessed to have one another. May he rest in peace and pray time soothes the loss.

To the best father and grandfather, you taught us so much except how to live without you. Every time we seen you, your face lit up. You were generous with your time, love and affection and we will never forget you. Don't worry about Nana, we will take good care of her and mom, too. You said you will always watch over us, and we believe that, because you were a man of your word. Rest in peace Poppy, you were one of a kind and we will miss you terribly, till we meet again.
