Wieslawa Biskup Obituary
Wieslawa "Wiesia" (Kedra) Biskup, age 71 of Broad Brook, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with illness.
Born in Potok, Poland on September 14,1953 to Czeslaw and Kamila (Kuliga) Kedra, she grew up on a small farm where she started her family. While working in a glass making company, Wiesia, a talented hairstylist and a graduate of hairdressing school, would use her personal touch to help her family, friends and coworkers find their sense of style. She first came to the United States in 1991 to start a new life in Northampton, Massachusetts and was later joined by her three daughters.
Known for her strong character and hard work ethic, Wiesia was employed in a number of occupations to support her growing family. For the last twelve years in her professional life, she worked as a seamstress for the Florence Casket Company in Massachusetts, from where she retired. After moving to Connecticut, she made her home in Broad Brook her ultimate place of residence, where she lived near her three daughters and their families.
A thoughtful, kind and generous spirit, Wiesia was a devoted Mom surrounding her family with unconditional love and support in all their endeavors. She bestowed her grandmotherly affection onto her two grandchildren Tristan and Olivia who she tenderly called "Tiniu" and "Minia" and for whom she will always remain the adored "Babcia".
In her leisure time Wiesia tended to her garden, traveled, listened to music and spent time with friends. She kept her mind vibrant and engaged reading books, doing crossword puzzles, and enjoying animated discussions about current events and Polish political arena. Wiesia cherished her family and loved sharing Polish cuisine during frequent gatherings and holiday celebrations.
She was a beloved Mom, Grandma, Mother-in-Law, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, and will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Wiesia was survived by her daughter Aneta and her husband Grzegorz, her daughter Justyna, her daughter Sylwia and her husband Grzegorz, and their children Tristan and Olivia, and by her two sisters, Matylda and Elzbieta of Poland.
