Aaron Richards Obituary

Aaron C. Richards, age 65, passed away at his home in Griggsville, IL on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. He was born on July 24, 1960, in Pittsfield, IL to Gordon and Lena Mae (Norton) Richards. Aaron was an over the road truck driver and hauled everything from livestock, cars, produce to asphalt. He loved telling stories about his trucking life. In his earlier years he was a meat cutter, worked at the dynamite plant and built hog confinement buildings. Aaron enjoyed fishing, John Wayne movies and watching the rodeo on TV. He was known by many names including Dad, Papa/Grandpa, Fat Papa, Uncle Aaron, Pops, Hummer and Gouger. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed. Aaron is survived by his daughters, Jessica (Tyler) Catron, Megan (Jeff) Romig and Whitney (Ryan) Fisher; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Lyndel Richards; brother-in-law Sam Bradshaw; and many nieces and nephews survive. Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Marilyn Jean Bradshaw. Cremation rites have been accorded, and all services will be private. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
