Arthur "Art" Cornelius Obituary

Arthur "Art" Wayne Cornelius, 78, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 10:10 AM, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Clarence Care Center in Clarence, MO. The family will host a life celebration at a later date. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Art was born February 21, 1947, in Hannibal, MO to Elmer R. Cornelius and Alberta James Cornelius. Survivors include his brother, Lewis Cornelius; sister, Margaret Ward; and numerous nieces and nephews. Art was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob Cornelius; and sister, Lela Underhill. Art proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Professionally, Arthur was a brakeman for Burlington Northern Railroad and later retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. Art was a member of First Baptist Church in Perry, MO. The family and friends of Art would like to extend their appreciation to the Blessing Cancer Center, the Pleasant View Assisted Living Center, and the Clarence Care Center for the wonderful and compassionate care given to him during his illness. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
