Brian Berghager Obituary

Brian Richard Berghager, 61, of Curryville, MO, passed away at 8:06 PM, Sunday, August 17, 2025, in Frankford, MO. Private burial will be held at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO. Friends and Family are invited to Brian's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 21, 2025, at James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Brian was born February 10, 1964, in Hannibal, MO to Richard Berghager and Patty Brown Berghager Epperson. Survivors include his mother, Patty Epperson; fiancé, Marilyn Hubert; three children, Kayla Harris (Brian); Richie Berghager (Shelbi), and Jacob Berghager; four stepchildren, Justin Worthington (Michelle), Steven Alexander (Danielle), Brian Worthington (Heather), and Ashleigh Schoneboom; three sisters, Tammy Brown (Craig), Kenya Kent (Donald), and Terry Ross (Kenny); one brother, Daniel Epperson (Jena); sister-in-law, Linda Epperson; nine grandchildren, Quinn, Korbin, Bella, Lane, Natalie, Rileigh, Elena, Jaxon, and Karson; and nine step grandchildren, Rylee, Myla, Macie, Grayson, Jaycob, Ashton, Cooper, Audrey, and Emma. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Richard Berghager; stepfather, Kenneth Epperson; grandparents, Bill and Pat Brown and Al and Justine Berghager; brother, Mike Epperson; uncle, Benny Berghager; cousin, Alfred Berghager; and special friend, Chad Laird. Professionally, Brian was a logger and a farmer for Blackwell Farms. A true outdoorsman, Brian found joy in fishing on the Mississippi River, mushroom hunting, horseback riding, and camping. His sense of adventure led him to spend many hours exploring trails on his side by side. When not outdoors, Brian could be found watching episodes of "Gunsmoke." A dedicated family man, Brian cherished gatherings where he could enjoy his mother's famous Kraut Balls while laughing and sharing stories. Known by "PawPaw" to his grandchildren and "Sweetheart" to his friends, Brian was loved by many. Above all, Brian's family and grandchildren were the light of his life and he treasured every memory made with them. Honorary pallbearers will be David Houchins, Wes Jameson, Kyle Jameson, G.J. Pugh, Kent Young, Rob Jennings, David Atkinson and his friends and co-workers at Blackwell Farms. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
