Julie Marie Schaefer, 62, of Palmyra, MO passed away at 9:15 AM, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra, MO. Pastor Wes Gehrke will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, MO.
Friends and Family are invited to Julie's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO.
Julie was born June 19, 1963, in Hannibal, MO, to Max B. Schaefer and Alma Jane Peiter Schaefer.
Survivors include her boyfriend, Sean White, siblings, Dwane (Toni) Schaefer of Palmyra, MO, Janell Parks of Palmyra, MO, Michael (Stephanie) Schaefer of Palmyra, MO, nieces and nephews, Anthony (Dannielle) Schaefer, Brandon (Sheri) Schaefer, Kaleah (Jack) Brown, Chandra (Tyler) DeLaPorte, Ceres (Brad) Neff, Jonathan Schaefer, Justin (Bri) Schaefer, several great nieces and nephews and the children she helped raise, Lyndie, Robyn and Landon "Bo".
Julie was preceded in death by her mother, and former boyfriend, Bobby Sorenson.
Julie cherished life's simple joys – the laughter of children. She loved helping people and was always willing to lend a hand when needed. Julie was an all around good person and cherished the time she spent with family and friends. She loved the beauty of flowers and plants and found serenity in nature; whether she was on the hunt for mushrooms or fishing. She was a collector of geodes, amethyst, and turquoise, further showcasing her love for the outdoors.
B Creative was one of her favorite local places to grab a drink. She definitely had a few favorites. She enjoyed watching soap operas and game shows. Let's Make A Deal was one that she enjoyed watching. Decorating her house and porch, brought her much joy. Julie enjoyed watching football and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. She loved to cook and share her meals with family and friends. Cats were her animals of choice. Julie could be found at the Casino playing slot machines. Julie listened to the music of George Thorogood, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and other classic rock hits.
Her favorite sayings, "knock on wood" and "fingers crossed," are a gentle reminder that positivity can carry one far. Julie's memory lives on in the hearts and the lives of everyone who knew and loved her.
Julie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra, MO.
Pallbearers will be Julie's nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel for funeral expenses or Maple Lawn Nursing Home Auxiliary.
