Larry was born October 26, 1944, in Emden, MO, to James Henry Moss and Ethel Mae Baker Moss. He was married to Lori Stiffey Moss on December 24, 1991, in Hannibal, MO. She survives.
Other survivors include his children Penny (Mike) Coons of Palmyra, MO, Kim (Steve) Kolthoff of New London, MO, sister, Marilyn Wenneker of Nelsonville, MO, grandchildren, Mikey Coons, Brandon Coons, Macy Redman, Madison Redman, Taylor Kolthoff and numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, siblings, Claude Moss, Robert "Bob" Moss, Marjorie Schuessler, Charles "Luke" Moss, Jerry Moss and Doris Small.
Professionally, Larry worked for Electric Wheel and Midwest Pattern and the shoe factory. Larry never met a person he considered a stranger. With each visit he genuinely wanted to know more about their story, their interests, and their life. This was a man who, without hesitation, would offer the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Larry had a fondness for collecting old items that he believed someone might need. He enjoyed NASCAR events, with a particular admiration for Dale Earnhardt. His days were often spent watching "The Bold and the Beautiful" and cooking shows. His legendary beer butt chicken was a favorite and often times enjoyed with a cold Busch or PBR in hand.
He loved the farm and deer camp. Bucking bales, hunting squirrel and turkey, and fishing were some of his favorite things to do. He frequently scrolled Facebook, keeping up with friends and family. He loved cats but he was especially fond of his cat, Puddles.
As we say farewell to Larry, we remember a couple of his favorite songs, "Want a Beer" and "Ready for Another". Let us raise a glass in honor of a life well-lived, a journey marked by kindness, laughter, and love.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard "Dickie" Crane, Gary Helms, Paul Cox, Mike Coons, Steve Kolthoff and Duane Harsell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cuddle Cat Rescue.
