Larry graduated from Hannibal High School in 1963 and began his career at Central Stone Rock Quarry in Huntington, Missouri in 1966. In 2005, he served as President of the Missouri Limestone Producers Association and was an active board member for many years.
Larry proposed to Beverly Gullion after a whirlwind romance that began with a blind date. After just two weeks of knowing each other, they were united in marriage on September 5, 1972. Their love story spanned over five decades, filled with laughter, adventure, and deep companionship. Beverly survives him.

He cherished winters in Fort Myers, Florida, annual golf trips to Biloxi, Mississippi with his buddies, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved sprint car and late model racing, playing cards, gambling, traveling, and spending time with friends. His favorite moments were those spent with family-vacations, poolside cookouts, and the joyful chaos of a full house on Edgewood.
